As a tribute to the HOth anniversary of Yorgo Bacanos, one of the greatest udists in Turkish music history vvith many follovvers around the vvorld. Yorgo Bacanos Istanbul International Ud Festival vvill be held betvveen Oct. 25 and 31. In the series of events, sponsored by the Istanbul 2010 European Capital of Culture Agency's Classic Turkish Music Directorate, lasting seven days at the Sepetçiler Mansion, the vvorld's leading udists vvill meet in Istanbul.  All the events of the festival, the vvorkshops, seminars, concerts and recitals, vvill be free. The festival program is full of vvorkshops, seminars, concerts and recitals. The festival vvill add a different color to Istanbul for a vveek. The vvorld's leading udists vvill deliver performances, individually or in groups, and vvill have a chance to monitor each other's music from close range as vvell as to make music together. In addition, the vvritten and visual recordings of the festival process vvill be a significant gain for students of the ud. Numerous udists, induding Josoph Tavvadros, Professor Münir Nurettin Beken, Omar Bashir, Periklis Tsoukalas , Tristan Driessens, Georgios Marinakis, Elia Khoury, Haig Yazdjian, Naseer Shamma, Aïnat Trio, Necati Çelik, Osman Nuri Özpekel, Yurdal Tokcan, Professor Gülçin Yahya Kaçar, Burak Kaynarca, Feri Barut, Hakan Aydınlık, Murat Bağdatlı, Ferdi Koç and Metin Özden vvill give concerts and vvorkshops during the events .
